Emma Bourroux, AMFT
Some experiences can remain present long after they have ended. You may notice feeling on guard, disconnected, or unsure how to respond in relationships. You may also not be ready to describe what happened. Emma Bourroux, AMFT approaches trauma therapy with respect for your boundaries and the pace of what you want to discuss.

You do not have to share details about past experiences before you are ready. Emma takes a trauma-informed approach that prioritizes safety, choice, and what feels manageable for you.
Past experiences can affect how you handle emotions, build trust, set boundaries, and see yourself. Therapy can help you explore these effects, including experiences of childhood trauma, sexual abuse, or physical abuse, without making assumptions about what you have been through.
Emma draws on DBT-informed skills to help you manage difficult emotions and Narrative Therapy to explore how past experiences shape your view of yourself. Together, you can work on what matters to you at a pace that feels right.
In trauma therapy, we can talk about some of these topics. Each one opens a page of its own.
Emma sees clients at Good Therapy San Diego in Encinitas, serving North County San Diego. Online sessions are available across California. To discuss fit, current fees, or who should attend, call (619) 330-9500 or email intake@goodtherapysandiego.com. Please do not include private health details in a website inquiry.
